Frankenstein Porsche With A Twin-turbo V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

This Porsche was born a 1998 986 Boxster but since has transformed into a Nordic racing monster. The story begins in 2010 when Swedish builder Robin Jonasson from Elite Projects first started modifying the Boxster. Then in 2012 Finn Arne Sivertsen purchased the car after falling in love with its racing potential. Finn has taken the car to the next level with the continued help from Elite Projects.

To give you an idea of how much of this car has been modified, the only things left from the original Boxster is the floors, A-pillars and windshield. Everything else you see is custom. The body is comprised of a widened 997 GT3 Cup front and rear custom fiberglass fenders attached to a 987 Cayman back and roof.

The engine is a twin-turbo 5.0 L Porsche M28.41 V8 sourced from a late 80’s 928 S4 luxury GT coupe. The engine has been upgraded with a dry sump oiling system and thicker steel head gasket. The compression was reduced from 10.0:1 to 9.3:1 so it could be turbocharged. The engine produces 680 horsepower (507 kW) on 7 psi (0.5 bar) of boost to the rear wheels. All this and the car is still street-legal.
