Toyota’s 3.4L V8 Yaris Concept

Published in engineswapdepot.com

I love and hate concepts. I love them because I get to see what engineers can develop when they are factory backed and allowed to go crazy. I hate them because many concepts are never put into production and rarely get sold to the public.

Toyota just reveled some more information on their Yaris Hybrid-R Concept. It will be AWD and feature a 3.4L V8 hybrid drivetrain from their TS030 Le Mans Prototype race car. The engine and electrical motors will combine to produce a total of 400 horsepower.

I am sure Toyota is building this to test some aspect but my heart sinks because I don’t believe Toyota is really wanting to sell a small AWD high horsepower hybrid car.
