1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe with a Supercharged LT4 V8

1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe with a Supercharged LT4 V8

Goolsby Customs built this 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe for the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association‘s 2025 Grand Prize Giveaway. In the engine bay sits a supercharged 6.2 L LT4 V8 crate motor producing 640 hp (470 kW) and 640 lb-ft (867 Nm) of torque. The motor uses forged steel crank and rods, forged aluminum pistons, and 1.7 L Eaton supercharger. Backing that is a 10L90 10-speed automatic transmission, custom driveshaft, and 9-inch rear end with a GearFX FN988 center section. Goolsby Customs swapped the factory frame for a Roadster Shop Spec chassis. It features power steering rack, four-link rear suspension, adjustable coilovers, and Baer six-piston brakes with 14-inch rotors. Over those are Forgeline AL307 wheels (18×9, 19×11.5) wearing Michelin Pilot tires (255/35, 325/30). You can read more on the car’s specs in Fuel Curve’s article or view photos of the progress in the build album.
