Steve Strope and his company Pure Vision Design built this 1966 Ford Mustang called “Martini T-5R” as a 60’s rally race car. Under the hood they installed a 292 ci (4.7L) V8 based on a 255 ci (4.1L) DOHC V8 used in a Lotus/Ford Indy race car from 1964-1978. Ed Pink Racing Engines built the all-aluminum motor with a 3.78 bore, 3.25 stroke, Ford 302 stroker crank, CP forged pistons, Lunati steel billet rods, Ed Pink-spec custom ground camshafts, and EFI converted. The motor makes 426 hp (317 kW) and 362 lb-ft (490 Nm) on 10.5:1 compression. Behind the motor Pure Vision Design added a C&R Performance four-speed manual transmission developed for NASCAR and a 9-inch rear end. The Mustang rides on a Detroit Speed Aluma-Frame front suspension and Quadralink 4-link rear suspension. A set of custom EVOD Industries 16-inch wheels with AVON slicks cover Wilwood four-piston disc brakes.
