AWD Nissan Truck with a 1,000 hp LSx V8
Stephen Dorrick built his Nissan Frontier at his company LOJ Conversions for autocross racing. It is powered by a twin-turbo LSx V8 capable of 1,000 hp (735 kW). The motor features a LSA block, Callies crank, Boostline rods, Wiseco pistons, Tick Performance camshaft, Dailey Engineering dry sump, and Texas Speed ported LSA heads. Stephen backed the monster motor with an AWD drivetrain. It starts with a Mantic triple-disc clutch and TR6060 six-speed with a PPG sequential gearset. From there an Escalade NP149 transfer case sends power through custom aluminum driveshafts to a Nissan Titan/Armada front differential and Currie 9-inch rear differential. Both have 4.10 ratios. The truck still rides on a factory front subframe but with Titan control arms and spindles. Stephen replaced the rear factory subframe for an Armada rear subframe with Armada spindles. Bumps are handled by a set of Viking Crusader triple-adjustable coilovers. The brakes are Wilwood six-piston calipers with 16-inch rotors in front and four-piston calipers with 14.5-inch rotors in back. On each corner are Forgeline 20×12-inch wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 345/30 tires. Listen to Stephen explain the project’s history in the video below.
