1997 Nissan Stagea 25t with a RB26DETT
Nissan built this 1997 Stagea 25t RS Four V with a turbocharged 2.5 L RB25DET inline-six. In 2023 it was imported to the USA where it received it received powertrain and handling upgrades. The unique wagon is for sale on Bring a Trailer.
The factory RB25 inline-six was swapped for a turbocharged 2.8 L RB26DETT inline-six. This kit includes crankshaft, forged pistons, and forged rods. The bore is increased from 86.0 mm to 87.0 mm and the stroke from 73.7 mm to 77.7 mm. On tops sits a ported head with HKS RB26 V-Cam System Step 2 variable valve timing upgrade, Ferrea +1mm intake and exhaust valves, and Kelford valve guides, beehive springs, titanium retainers, and DLC-coated shimless buckets.
Boost is generated by a HKS GTIII 4R turbocharger and charged air is cooled by a HKS GT intercooler before entering a Nismo-spec ported intake plenum. The fuel system is upgraded with ID 1300X injectors fed by a Walbro TI BK1000 fuel pump and controller by a Link G4X ECU.
A Nengum Performance Nismo Super Coppermix twin-plate clutch connects to a R33 GTR five-speed manual transmission. From there power is transmitted by a Midori Seibi center transfer case to the ATTESA E-TS AWD drivetrain. The front wheels turn by a 1.5-way front limited-slip differential while the rear wheels turn by a R33 GTR 1.5-way rear limited-slip differential.
The wagon’s suspension benefits from a set of Öhlins remote-reservoir coilovers, Cusco adjustable front upper control arms, and Ikeya Formula tension rods. The rear suspension has a R34 GT-R V-Spec subframe, HICAS delete kit, and Nismo-spec rear control arms. Braking is handled by Z33 Brembo calipers in front and R34 N1 Brembo calipers in rear. Covering those are are Rays 57CR 18×9.5-inch wheels wearing Continental 255/35 tires.
