AWD Nissan Sunny with a Turbo RB26

Published in engineswapdepot.com

In 1994 Olivier Frey purchased a Nissan Sunny (Pulsar) GTI-R for slalom (autocross) racing. Since then the car has come a long way. The car wears a custom widebody and aero with a black & green livery. Under the hood sits a turbocharged Nissan RB26DETT inline-six from a Nissan R32 GTR. It features a Precision 6466 turbocharger, Kelfrod 182-E camshafts, Supertech valvetrain, and Haltech Elite 2500 ECU. The combination produces 650+ hp (478+ kW) and 750+ Nm (553+ lb-ft) of torque. Olivier transmits that power to four wide tires using an OS Giken OS-88 six-speed sequential transmission and Nissan Skyline AWD drivetrain. It’s been six years since we watched Olivier compete in the Sunny. Below is a video by HillClimb Monsters showing the unique car at St. Ursanne Hillclimb in Saint-Ursanne, Switzerland.
