AWD VW Van with a Twin-Turbo Audi V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Andi Riley builds VW Transporters at his company Not Just Campers in Wakefield, England. Andi also enjoys building powerful vans. Take for example his 2007 Volkswagen Transporter (T5) making 832 hp (611 kW) and 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) of torque. The van accomplishes this thanks to a 4.2 L FSI V8 from an Audi RS4 (B7) paired with two turbochargers. Power is sent to all four wheels by an Audi six-speed manual transmission and Quattro AWD drivetrain. You can watch all the project’s progress in build playlist. Andi is selling his unique Transporter and can be contacted here if you are interested.

Ben Collins (former Stig) drove the van and set a quicker lap than in a BMW E46 M3. Clearly 800+ hp makes up for a lot of handling shortcomings. Watch Ben’s review and lap in the video below.
