Mazda MX-5 with a Supercharged Honda K24
Performance Link created their Mazda MX-5 called “Kermit” to compete at the track and showoff their skills. Under the hood sits a supercharged Honda K24 inline-four built by Performance Link. The motor features forged pistons and rods, KPower intake manifold, Rotrex C38 supercharger, and Haltech Nexus ECU. The combo produces 497 hp (365 kW). Behind the motor is an adapter plate bolted to a strengthened NC six-speed manual transmission. A carbon fiber driveshaft sends power to a limited-slip differential. Performance Link upgraded the car’s handling with their big brake kit using AP Racing 5000R calipers and two-piece rotors. The car benefits from a full aero package featuring a front splitter, flat floor, and rear wing.
The video below show the car with a naturally aspirated Honda K24 making 302 hp (222 kW) on the dyno.
