1973 Chevelle Laguna with a 1,000 hp 10.4 L Big-Block V8
If this 1973 Chevelle Laguna looks familiar, that’s because it debuted at the 2018 SEMA Show with a supercharged LT5 V8. The LT5’s 775 hp (570 kW) output was not enough. So Chevrolet Performance swapped in a 632 ci (10.4 L) ZZ632 V8 crate motor. The 4th-gen big-block features a tall-deck cast iron block with a 4.6-inch bore, 4.75-inch stroke, forged steel crank and H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons, and race-inspired RS-X heads. It produces 1004 hp (738 kW) and 876 lb-ft (1187 Nm) of torque on 12.0:1 compression and 93 octane fuel. Behind the motor is a six-speed manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end with Moser axles. The car rides on Detroit Speed suspension with Brembo six-piston front brakes and four-piston rear brakes. Those are covers by an American Racing 18×10-inch wheels with Nitto 555 tires (295/45, 305/45).
