Travis Pastrana Drives a Carbon Fiber Subaru BRAT with a 670 hp Billet Boxer

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Hoonigan created Gymkhana 2025: Aussie Shred with Travis Pastrana behind the wheels of the “Brataroo 9500 Turbo” at several locations in Australia including Australia’s Outback, Sydney Harbour, Mount Panorama, and Outback. Vermont SportsCar (VSC) created the unique vehicle starting with a 1978 Subaru BRAT. In the engine bay VSC built and installed a billet 2.0 L flat-four producing 670 hp (492 kW) and 680 lb-ft (921 Nm) of torque. That is paired with a SADEV six-speed sequential transmission, triple-plate clutch, VSC front differential, and SADEV rear differential. Underneath VSC fabricated custom subframes, control arms, hubs, uprights, and added R53 Suspension’s adjustable coilovers. On the outside they cut the steel body and replaced it with a custom carbon fiber body designed by Khyzyl Saleem with active front and rear aero. Under the wide arches are custom KMC 18×8.5-inch wheels with Yokohama ADVAN A052 or ADVAN Apex tires.
