Goleby’s Parts 1JZ-Powered Toyota Dyna
Goleby’s Parts purchased a 1977 Toyota Dyna truck for their next shop truck. Under the hood was an unhealthy 4.1 L 15B-F diesel inline-four. Goleby’s Parts swapped the tired 15B motor for one of their 800 hp 1JZ package paired to a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission built by Gilroy’s Race Transmission. The 1JZ motor features CP forged pistons, Nitto H-beam rods, billet main caps, VVTi head, and Kelford 260/260 camshafts. Boost is generated by a Turbosmart 5862 turbocharger fed by a 6Boost exhaust manifold. The motor runs on E85 fuel through Bosch 1650 cc injectors sent by two Walbro 460 lph pumps in a Goleby’s Parts surge tank. Since this is a work truck, Goleby’s Parts chose to go with a conservative tune resulting in 505 hp (371 kW) and 572 Nm (421 lb-ft) of torque.
