Infiniti Creates the QX80 R-Spec with a 1000 hp Twin-Turbo VR38 V6
Infiniti is debuting their QX80 R-Spec project at the 2025 SEMA Show. The SUV is powered by a twin twin-turbo 3.8 L VR38 V6 capable of 1000 hp (735 kW). The motor features Boostline forged rods, JE forged pistons, ETS exhaust manifolds, and Garrett G-series turbochargers. It runs on a custom flex-fuel system uses 2600 cc injectors fed by a Fuel Lab pump. Infiniti states they used a custom transmission adapter but not what transmission is used. Unfortunately Infiniti does not state what transmission they used besides mentioning they made a custom adapter. The suspension features Custom MCS 3-way coilovers with external reservoirs paired with Eibach ERS springs. Infiniti improved braking using R35 GTR carbon ceramic brakes with custom adapters and rotor hats. The exterior features a custom widebody inspired by GTR T-Spec Takumi Edition covered in Midnight Purple vinyl wrap. The finishing touch are custom 24×12-inch wheels wearing Yokohama PARADA Spec-X 315/35 tires.
