VW Golf GTI with a 575 hp Turbo 3.2L VR6

Published in engineswapdepot.com

HPA Motorsports used their 30 years of experience when upgrading this 2002 Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk4. Under the hood they swapped the turbocharged 1.8 L inline-four for a HPA FTX500 turbocharged 3.2 L VR6. The motor features HPA TriFlow camshafts, Ferrea valvetrain, upgraded rod bearings, and BorgWarner EFR8474 turbocharger. The combo produces 575 hp (422 kW) and 500 lb-ft (677 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a Clutchmaster FX400 clutch and six-speed manual transmission with a factory limited-slip differential. The car rides on KW V3 coilovers and stops thanks to HPA Motorsport six-piston front brake kit and four-piston rear brake kit. Those are covered by HRE CM300 19×8.5-inch (ET35) wheels with Michelin PS4S 245/35 tires. The interior received Recaro Sportster CS seats with Schroth 4-point harnesses, upgraded instrument cluster, and VAD28 digital display.
