Twin-Engine Toyota Starlet

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Matt Berry and Nick Kamevaar built a Toyota Starlet called “Evil Twin” on their channel Camp Dogs. As the name suggests the blue car is powered by two motors. In the front of the car is a turbocharged Toyota 4E-FTE inline-four and automatic transmission. It features forged rods, Pulsar G37-770 turbocharger, Velocity Race billet intake manifolds, and GTR ignition coils. In the back is also a turbocharged Toyota 4E-FTE inline-four and automatic transmission. Both are controlled by a Haltech Elite ECU. Nick and the Starlet visited Haltech’s dyno to see what the powertrain could make. When running the motor separately, the front made 281 kW (376 hp) and the rear made 262 kW (351 hp). However when they ran both, they made 482 kW (646 hp) combined. Listen to Scotty from Haltech explain why the combo made less in the video below.
