
Mustang with a 800+ hp Barra Goes 8.5 sec

Chris Porter from Jackstand Barra visited Bradenton Motorsports Park with his fifth-generation Ford Mustang (S197) for testing for FL2K. Chris made several 8-second passes with the quickest being 8.564 sec at 160.14 mph. Chris’ Mustang is powered by a turbocharged 4.0 L Ford Barra inline-six using forged rods and pistons, Kelford 218B camshafts, 6Boost Promod exhaust manifold, and Pulsar 7685 turbocharger, and Fueltech FT550 ECU. The motor made 825 hp (615 kW) and 920 lb-ft (1247 Nm) of torque on a Forced Performance 7875 turbocharger. Behind the motor is a Circle D converter, Hughes Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission, and Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.50 ratio.
