Carbon Fiber 1966 Corvette with a 800 hp Supercharged V8
Rothspeed created the “Splitray” as the ultimate classic 1966 Corvette. The company starts with a carbon fiber body on a Rothspeed fabricated chassis made from 2×4-inch steel tubing with internal X-rail reinforcement. In the engine bay is a Lingenfelter prepped supercharged 6.2 L LT4 V8 capable of 800 hp (588 kW). It features forged steel crank and rods, forged aluminum pistons, and ported heads. Behind the motor is an 8L90E eight-speed automatic transmission and 9-inch independent rear end with a Strange Pro Nodular Iron center section and 35-spline axles. The Splitray rides on adjustable billet control arms, Rothspeed Gen 2 IRS, and JRI remote-resevoir coilovers. Braking is handled by Wilwood six-piston calipers with 14-inch rotors assisted by a Bosch Motorsports M5 ABS system. Covering those are Forgeline MS3C wheels (19×11.5, 20×12.5) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (295/30, 345/30).
