David Mazzei from Mazzei Formula built the “Mazzei Formula Five” using a Superlite SL-C race car powered by a turbocharged five-rotor. The motor uses billet housings, peripheral porting, six-stage dry sump, custom water-to-air intercooler, and Garrett G57-3000 106 mm turbocharger. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tilton twin-plate clutch and Hollinger MXT six-speed sequential transaxle. The car visited Motorvations Motorsports’s dynojet for tuning. After two days of tuning the car made 1120 hp (835 kW) and 806 lb-ft (1092 Nm) to the wheels on 12.5 psi (0.86 bar) of boost.
