This 1978 Ferrari 308 GTB visited Otsuka Maxwell Design (OMD San Diego) in need of an engine rebuild. Instead of rebuilding the factory 2.9 L Tipo F106 AB V8, OMD swapped a 2.9 L Tipo F105 AB V8 from a 308 GTB/GTS Quattrovalvole. The Quattrovalvole motors feature Four-valve cylinder heads (32-valve). OMD carried over the Weber carburetors from the 2-valve (16-valve) V8 to the Quattrovalvole V8. The motor produced 237 hp (174 kW) and 205 lb-ft (277 Nm) of torque to the wheels on the dyno.
