Dylan Auton’s Datsun 1600 with a VK56 V8
Dylan Auton spent six years building a Datsun 1600 race car for World Time Attack Challenge. The car is powered by a stroked 6.0 L VK56DE V8 previously built by Kelly Racing for V8 Supercar racing. It features forged internals, individual throttle bodies, dry sump, and nitrous system. The V8 produces 640-660 hp (470-485 kW) (naturally aspirated) and is paired to an Albins sequential transaxle. Up front they swapped the McPherson front suspension for a double-wishbone Supercar front suspension. Braking will be handled by AP Racing LMP-spec carbon disc brakes covered by a prev-generation Supercar centerlock wheel. Andrew Brilliant from AMB Aero designed the extreme aero. The car will compete at WTAC 2025 in the Pro Open Class with James Golding behind the wheel.
