1992 Subaru Legacy with a Turbo EJ22

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Team Legacy competes in a 1992 Subaru Legacy race car powered by a turbocharged 2.2 L flat-four capable of 800+ hp (596+ kW). Mike Latimer built the motor with an EJ22 block, Carrillo rods, Mahle Extreme+ pistons, SMG AVCS heads, Supertech valves, and Cosworth camshafts. The motor is capable of 700+ hp thanks to a Xona by AET 9564S turbocharger and eight ASNU 1350 cc injectors. The drivetrain uses a Samsonas short-ratio sequential transmission, Exedy 3-plate clutch, Cusco 1.5 way front differential, and KAAZ R180 rear differential. You can read the full specs here. Team Legacy will be competing at Pikes Peak 2025. That will come with a host of changes including custom radiator, AET Turbos’ Xona Rotor turbocharger, additional roll bars by Roelands Motorsport, and upgraded electronics and wiring harness.
