Mazda MX-5 with a Turbo Honda K24
Tadeu Zagallo built a 1990 Mazda MX-5 to compete in Time Attack in Sweden. Under the hood is a turbocharged Honda K24 inline-four sitting on KMiata mounts. It features a factory longblock, Autogruppen custom exhaust manifold, Garrett GBC 35-700 turbocharger, KMiata intake manifold, and FIC 1650 cc injectors. The combo is making 450 hp to the wheels at 7,500 rpm. Behind the motor is a BMW DCT 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission. A BroFab driveshaft sends power to a Mustang Super 8.8-inch rear end. The car rides on Supermiata adjustable coilovers and Konig 15×10-inch wheels. The custom carbon fiber widebody was designed by Tadeu. He designed and 3D-printed plastic molds that he used for carbon fiber forms. Listen to Tadeu explain the project to Konstantinos Sidiras from One Lap Heros.
