Published in engineswapdepot.com

Schwartz Performance received this 1974 Chevrolet Nova built in a 80’s Pro Street style with a supercharger rising out of the hood. The company was tasked with rebuilding the car with a contemporary appearance and powertrain.

The project started with one of Schwartz Performance’s G-Machine chassis. On that they installed Ridetech single-adjustable coilovers and power steering rack. Braking is handled by Wilwood six-piston calipers with 13-inch slotted/drilled rotors in front and four-piston calipers with 12-inch rotors in back.

The Nova still retains a supercharged V8 however with a newer architecture. In the engine bay sits a 6.2 L LT1 V8 from a 2015 Corvette topped with a ZL1 LT4 supercharger. Behind that is a 4L75E four-speed automatic transmission controlled by a US Shift TCU. A custom steel driveshaft rotates a Currie 9-inch center section in a Moser full-floating housing. The rear end features a TrueTrac limited-slip differential with 3.70 ratio and 31-spline axles.

Schwartz Performance spent a lot of time fabricating new sheet metal, working the body, and tucking the bumpers. Everything is coated in black and grey paint. The exterior is complimented by a set of Forgeline VX3C wheels (19×9, 20×12) with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (255/35, 335/30).

Schwartz Performance removed the grey fabric interior. They installed a set of 2015 Corvette seats protected by a roll cage. Between those is a custom steel center console with a digital display. A Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted on a Flaming River tilt column.
