1998 Explorer with a 363 ci V8
This 1998 Ford Explorer Sport came from the factory with a 4.0 L Cologne V6. It is now powered by a 363 ci small-block V8 featuring a Bryant Racing billet crank, Oliver Racing Parts rods, Diamond pistons, Ed Curtis camshaft, and custom headers. On top are Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads modified by Ed Curtis, Holley Systemax II intake manifold, 75 mm throttle body, and Siemens fuel injectors. Behind the V8 is a Centerforce aluminum flywheel, McLeod twin-disc clutch, and M5R2 five-speed manual transmission. A QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft sends power to a 8.8-inch rear end with 3.27 ratio. The Explorer rides on Bilstein shocks, Explorer four-door-spec roll bars and rear leaf springs, and 15-inch wheels with Hankook Ventus H101 tires (275/60).
