H23A-Powered 2001 Honda Prelude

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Fenton Sun from Zygrene reviewed Vertrix Engineering’s 2001 Honda Prelude built for SCCA racing. It came from the factory with a 2.2 L H22A4 inline-four but is now powered by a JDM 2.3 L H23A “Bluetop” inline-four. The motor features a BDI 70 mm throttle body, ported JDM intake manifold, Setrab oil cooler, and AEM EMS standalone ECU. It is paired to a manual transmission built by Synchrotech with carbon synchros, Wavetrac limited-slip differential, and MFactory 4.64 final drive. The car rides on Penske 7500 double-adjustable coilovers, modified front upper control arms, Progress rear sway bar, and adjustable end links. The brakes use Acrua TSX calipers with Acura RL rotors. Covering those are Enkei RPF1 17×9-inch (+45) wheels wearing Hankook RS4 255/40 tires. Listen to Fenton give his impression of this car while driving in the video below.
