AWD BMW E30 with a Turbo M50 Goes 8.4 sec

Raul Cotut and his wild BMW E30 returned to an airstrip in Arad, Romania for the RoDrag Racing National DragRacing Championship. The E30 coupe is powered by a compound turbocharged M50 inline-six. This means the engine uses two differently sized turbochargers connected in series. M5Phenomenon states the motor produces 1,100 hp (809 kW). Raul backed the motor with a built 8HP eight-speed automatic transmission. A 4WD drivetrain turns all four Hoosier slicks. Watch the E30 complete the quarter-mile in 8.423 sec at 272.39 km/h (169.25 mph).
