180SX with a Supercharged NASCAR V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Lauri Heinonen and his Nissan 180SX competes in the European drifting series Drift Masters. Lauri’s monster coupe has double the cylinders and almost thrice the displacement over the factory motor. Under the hood sits a supercharged 358 ci (5.8L) NASCAR Dodge R5P7 V8. The motor features an aluminum block, forged internals, Mopar P7 ported heads, dry sump, JTK Composites 3d-printed intake manifold, and 8-into-1 exhaust headers. A Vortech centrifugal supercharger helps the push-rod motor produce 960 hp (706 kW) and 854 Nm (629 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. The drivetrain uses a four-speed dogbox and Bulldog XR-420i quick-change rear end. The coupe rides on a full Wisefab suspension and a set of BC Racing remote reservoir adjustable coilovers.
