1991 Mercedes 250GD with a LS3 V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Expedition Motor Company (EMC) spent 2500 hours building this 1991 Mercedes 250GD Wolf (W461). The SUV originally came with a 2.5 L OM602 diesel inline-five and five-speed manual transmission. The diesel motor was capable of 91 hp (68 kW) and 114 lb-ft (154 Nm) of torque. EMC refers to the project as “620GE” because it is now powered by a 6.2 L LS3 V8 and 6L80E six-speed automatic transmission. The V8 is capable of 430 hp (316 kW) and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque. The body features a soft top with a camo paint job using historically accurate paint codes. The interior uses Sweetgrass colored upholstery with red stitching accented by European Oak trim.
