1968 F-100 with a Supercharged 4.6L V8
Grant Peterson built this 1968 Ford F-100 for Classic Trucks magazine in 2006. The truck is powered by a 4.6 L Modular (3-valve) V8 topped with a Whipple supercharger. Behind the motor is a 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission with a 2008 Mustang converter. Power is sent to the wheels through a Currie 9-inch rear end with a 3.50 ratio and 31-spline axles. Everything sits on a step-notched frame with a Fat Man Fabrication Mustang II-style front suspension and 4-link rear suspension. Each corner features adjustable coilovers and disc brakes with 13-inch rotors. In 2020 the Flareside bed was converted to a Styleside short bed. They painted the body in Ford Raptor Avalanche Gray paint. Under the fenders are American Racing Magnum 500-style 18-inch wheels with Continental ContiSportContact tires. The F-100 is found for sale on Bring a Trailer.
