2011 Camaro SS with a Duramax Diesel V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Rich Bosch from Deboss Garage interviewed Darcy “Heavy DE” about his very unique 2011 Camaro SS. When he saw Nathan Mueller’s Duramax-powered Camaro, he wanted to build something similar. Darcy started his project when he found a 2011 Camaro SS without an engine for sale. Once the Camaro was in his garage he went to work swapping in a 6.6 L Duramax (LMM) diesel V8 sourced from a moving van. To get the large diesel motor to fit, Darcy modified and lowered the front subframe and installed a RF Garage oil pan. Behind the Duramax Darcy added a Duramax flywheel and Southbend clutch to connect to a TR6060 six-speed manual transmission. The Camaro retains the factory driveshaft and rear end. You can listen to Darcy explain all his work in the video below.
