Published in engineswapdepot.com

Dragos Stacescu from CompleteCHIP built and owns the fastest diesel BMW in the world. Earlier this year Dragos’ BMW 118d (E81) achieved a 8.255 sec in the quarter-mile at the Drag Racing Moldova Finals at Balti International Airport in Moldova. The hatchback is powered by a compound-turbocharged 3.0 L M57N2 turbodiesel inline-six featuring FCP forged rods, factory pistons, and factory intake manifold. The powerful motor is paired to an 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission from a X6 (F16) and 330d xDrive AWD drivetrain. Closing up the racing season Dragos put the car on the dyno for one last run. The compound-turbo diesel made 1093 hp (803 kW) on 6.8 bar of boost (98 psi of boost).
