Supercharged 9.2 L Chevy Big-Block V8 Makes 1333 hp on the Dyno
Heath Moore from Harrop Engineering interviewed Frank Marchese at Dandy Engines about an engine they were dyno tuning. Frank explains they are tuning the supercharged 565 ci (9.2L) Chevy V8 used in a Holden Premier built by Automotive Creations. Frank started the tuning with a standard TVS2650 supercharger, 110 mm throttle, 80 mm supercharger pulley, 245 mm crank pulley, and E85 fuel. The motor produced 1158 hp (851 kW) and 950 lb-ft (1288 Nm) on 12.5 psi (0.86 bar) of boost. Frank then swapped to a ported TVS2650 supercharger and made 1178 hp (866 kW) and 950 lb-ft (1288 Nm) on 13 psi (0.89 bar) of boost. Next Frank swapped to a 120 mm throttle body and made 1212 hp (891 kW) and 953 lb-ft (1292 Nm) of 14 psi (0.96 bar) of boost. For the final test Frank swapped to a 70 mm supercharger pulley and made 1333 hp (980 kW) and 1051 lb-ft (1424 Nm) of torque.
