Mazda Miata with a Turbo K24 and DCT
Geaux Moto is a company in Hammond, Louisiana offering several services such as performance part installation, 3d scanning, CAD modeling, painted and bodywork, custom fabrication, and dyno tuning. If that was not enough, they also perform engine swaps. Today we share a Mazda Miata NC that benefited from their work.
In the Miata’s engine bay Geaux Moto swapped a turbocharged Honda K24Z7 inline-four which sits on KPower Industries motor mounts and front subframe. The motor uses a Hybrid Racing fuel rail, Unit 2 Fabrication oil pan, and KPower Industries intake manifold.
Geaux Moto 3d-scanned the engine bay to help design the turbo and exhaust system. Boost is generated by a Garrett G25-660 turbocharger paired with a 3d-printed a custom stainless steel exhaust manifold. The turbocharged Honda motor produces 300 hp (220 kW) to the wheels running on a custom wiring harness and Haltech R3 ECU.
Geaux Moto used an Adamat adapter to bolt the Honda K24 to a BMW F8x seven-speed duel-clutch transmission (DCT). From there power is sent through a custom driveshaft to the factory Miata differential.
On the inside Geaux Moto setup the interior for track use. The factory seats were swapped for a set of Recaro seats with Sparco harnesses. In the dash is an AIM MXG digital display behind a Sparco steering wheel with Seems Legit paddle shifters and OMP quick-release.
