1970 Subaru 360 with a Honda CBR954RR Motorcycle Motor

Published in engineswapdepot.com

This 1970 Subaru 360 called “Firebug” is no longer powered by an air-cooled straight-twin motor. Instead it has a 954 cc inline-four from a 2003 Honda CBR954RR Fireblade (CBR900RR) motorcycle making 154 hp (114 kW) and 75 lb-ft (101 Nm) of torque. The unique drivetrain uses the CBR954RR six-speed sequential transmission paired to a Geo Metro five-speed manual transaxle. Shifting is explained at 7:50 in the video below. The car rides on custom subframes with 1993 Geo Metro front MacPherson stuts, steering rack, and disc brakes. The body is coated in Dodge Granite Crystal Metallic and TorRed. Fiat 500 fenders cover Dunlop LeMans 24 14-inch wheels with 185/45 Toyo Proxes T1R tires. You can find this unique car for sale on Bring a Trailer.
