Toyota FJ45 with a Cummins R2.8
Blacksmith Garage spent 1300 hours building this 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 called “ANV-FJ1” at their company in Eden, Utah. It is powered by a 2.8 L Cummins R2.8 turbodiesel inline-four on custom mounts making 161 hp (118 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. The motor uses a cam-driven vacuum pump, custom stainless steel exhaust, and Blacksmith Garage custom 26-gallon tank. Behind the motor is an Advance Adapters adapter plate connected to a Monster Performance Level 2 4L65E four-speed automatic transmission. A rebuilt Toyota dual-range transfer case sends power through custom Tom Wood driveshaft to rebuilt FJ45 axles with 3.73 ratios. Everything sits on a factory frame with an Old Man Emu 2-inch lifted suspension and Saginaw power steering. The SUV stops thanks to Cruiser Corps disc brakes behind Mickey Thompson 16-inch wheels with BFGoodrich Mud Terrain 315/75 tires. Blacksmith Garage installed an Aqualu Industries aluminum body and fenders with a FJ45 steel hood. All panels are coated in BASF Toyota White (code #045) paint. The project sold on Bring a Trailer for $152,000.
