1980 Chevy C10 with a 1008 hp Turbo V8

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Kris Kurzweg built this 1980 Chevy C10 truck at this company Fleetwood Auto Service in Pennsylvania. The truck’s heart starts with a 5.3 L LSx V8 built by Miller Engines built the motor an aluminum 5.3 L block, Summit Racing Pro LS 4.0-inch stroke rotating assembly, and CNC ported cathedral heads. Kris also installed a BTR Stage 3 Turbo camshaft and VS Racing 88/103 turbocharger. Fuel is fed through Snake Eater Pro 1500 cc injectors from a 450 cfm lift pump and 450 cfm and 525 cfm surge tank pumps. Matt Happel at Sloppy Mechanics tuned the motor on flex fuel and his “PNP dial-a-boost” system. On low boost (4 psi) and 91 octane it made 505 hp (371 kW). On high boost (26 psi) and E85 fuel it made 1008 hp (741 kW). The drivetrain uses a 4L80E four-speed automatic built by Cameron Powers of A&H Transmission with a Jake’s Performance Stage 4 kit and C2 Competition Converters single disc lock up converter. A 3.5-inch driveshaft sends power to a 12-bolt rear end built by Jim Kopfer at Fleetwood Auto Service with a 3.73 ratio and Truetrac differential. Read more details on the truck at On All Cylinders.
