Mercedes S124 with a Turbo M113 V8
JMSpeedshop wanted to upgrade the power in a Mercedes S124 (W124 230TE wagon). The car originally came with a 2.3 L M102 inline-four and four-speed automatic transmission. JMSpeedshop swapped to a turbocharged 5.0 L M113 V8. They built the motor with custom I-beam rods, AMG SL55 Kompressor heads and camshafts, +4 mm exhaust valves, AMG double valve springs, 1100 cc injectors, and Pulsar 7170G (G40-1150) turbocharger. The combo made 607 hp (452 kW) and 867 Nm (639 lb-ft) of torque tuned by DW Techsolution. JMSpeedshop upgraded the drivetrain using a 722.6 five-speed automatic transmission from a E55 AMG W210 and a 210 mm diff from a E420 W210 with a 2.82 ratio. The car’s rebuilt suspension features JMSpeedshop’s custom ADS (active damping system) and a set of Brembo four-piston calipers with 345 mm rotors in front. You can watch the project’s build process here.
