Electric Classic Cars (ECC) converted this 1958 Mercedes 190SL to electric at their company in the UK. The car would have come from the factory with a 1.9 L inline-four producing approximately 100 hp (73 kW). Now it is powered by a Zonic 180 electric motor capable of 180 kW (241 hp) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque. Behind the motor ECC installed a gear-reduction unit and custom driveshaft connected to the factory Mercedes rear axle. The engine bay also houses two radiators; one to cool the motor and inverter, and another to cool the 50 kWh battery pack. The battery pack is split between the engine bay and trunk to help with weight distribution. The car has approximately 180 mile range.
