Challenger SRT Hellcat with a Turbo 2JZ Makes 1049 hp on the Dyno
Austin Edwards and his Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat built on his channel Scrap Life Garage visited the FuelTech USA dyno for some tuning. Austin’s Hellcat is no longer powered by a supercharged V8. Instead it has a turbocharged 3.0 L 2JZ inline-six built by Brian Roche. The motor features a factory crank, BC rods, Diamond pistons, Real Street billet main caps, ported head, GSE camshafts, 1300 cc injectors, and Garrett G42-1200 turbocharger. On the FuelTech hub dyno, the motor made 1049 hp (782 kW). Backing the 2JZ is a Grannis Racing bellhousing bolt to a Magnum XL six-speed manual transmission. A custom aluminum driveshaft sends power to a Challenger Scat Pack differential with a 3.90 ratio. Watch the dyno run in the video below.
