Wahnsinn Wagens’ Mercedes 190E with a OM606 Diesel Inline-Six
Wahnsinn Wagens set out to build a unique Mercedes 190E called the Wahnsinn One. The team’s recipe for a unique 190E EVO II tribute is weaving the classic Mercedes race style with modern diesel performance. If you are interested in owning this unique car, please contact Wahnsinn Wagens for more details.
In the engine bay Wahnsinn Wagens swapped a 3.0 L OM606 turbodiesel inline-six on a set of Kangaroos Team mounts. The motor is capable of 500 hp (367 kW) thanks to a BorgWarner Airwerks S200SX-E turbocharger, custom exhaust manifold, Dieselmeken mechanical fuel pump, Ultraflow fuel injectors, and Hoogste Motorsport aluminum radiator.
Behind the motor is a 260 mm organic clutch and Mercedes 716.6 six-speed manual transmission. A custom driveshaft transmits the power to a 210 mm large car differential with a 3.23 ratio and Kangeroos Team axles.
Wahnsinn Wagens improved the car’s handling using KW Suspensions V3 shocks with H&R 40 mm lowering springs. They also installed a H&R 28 mm front stabilizer and Strongflex bushings. They upgraded the front brakes to Brembo four-piston calipers with 330 mm rotors.
The exterior of the car wears a custom EVO II widebody requiring 500 hours of work to fit perfectly. Wahnsinn Wagens completed the car’s look with a set of Maxilite EVO II-style 17-inch wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 245/40 tires.
On the inside Wahnsinn Wagens kept it simple. They restored the black leather seats and added a custom shift knob on a short shifter. The team also added a Blaupunkt Bremen stereo.
