Eric Kutil’s K24-Powerd Civic Race Car

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Eric Kutil and his Hybrid Racing 5th-gen Civic compete in GridLife Touring Cup (GLTC). The car is powered by a JDM 2.4 L K24A inline-four supported by a custom Hasport raised mounts. The motor features a PRB oil pump, Unit 2 Fab Elite oil pan, and 50-degree VTC cam gear. It runs on a Haltech Elite 1500 ECU using a Rywire Motorsports harness. Richard Nelson tuned the motor into making 235 hp (172 kW) but is restricted for GTLC to 205 hp (150 kW). Power is sent to the front wheels through a RSX-S manual transmission with close-ratio gears and OS Giken limited-slip differential. The Civic’s suspension features custom spec Fortune Dreadnought 3-way adjustable coilovers with Eibach ERS springs and custom control arms co-designed by Hybrid Racing and machined by Old Boys Machine. Braking is handled by Fastbrakes Stoptech calipers with 12-inch rotors in front and OEM Integra Type R rear brakes. Those are covered by TSW Kenmora 18×10.5-inch (+27) wheels with Kumho v730 265/35 tires in front and TSW Kenmora 18×8.5-inch (+38) wheels with Kumho v730 225/40 tires in back.
