Vauxhall Chevette with a 2.3 L C20XE

Published in engineswapdepot.com

Retropower spent a lot of time building this 1983 Vauxhall Chevette called “Project Vadar” at their company in Wykin, Hinckley, UK. In the engine bay they swapped a Vauxhall/Opel 2.3 L C20XE “Redtop” inline-four capable of 256-290 hp (188-213 kW). Exon Racing Engines built the motor with forged pistons, Exon-spec 50 mm throttle bodies, dry sump, and Simpson 2.75-inch stainless steel exhaust. Behind that is a Quaife 60G six-speed sequential transmission and full floating Atlas rear end with Gripper limited-slip differential. The car rides on a strengthened front suspension with Bilstein shocks and a 5-link rear suspension with Bilstein coilovers. A set of Revolution wheels (15×8, 15×9) cover AP Racing four-piston calipers with 304 mm rotors in front and AP Racing two-piston calipers in back. The car will be auctioned at Iconic Auctioneers.
