BMW Isetta with a Corvair Engine

Published in engineswapdepot.com

This 1957 BMW Isetta is called the Corsetta because instead of the factory 298 cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine it is powered by a Chevy Corvair flat-six engine. This change increased the power from 13 horsepower to 150 horsepower. With the 10x increase in power and much more weight the car can easily do wheelies all day. To compensate weights were added to the front and a wheelie bar was installed in back. The car was built by an automotive shop class in the 1970’s and was featured in Hot Rod Magazine in March 1977.
