For us, it looks a lot like this. ⚡ This 1953 Chevy 3100 keeps all the character, patina, and personality of a 70+ year-old pickup, but underneath it’s an entirely different truck. In this Behind the Build, we’re giving you the full breakdown of how we transformed this old Chevy into a classic you can actually enjoy every day. Power comes from a Hyper 9 electric motor producing 125 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque, paired with a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission. Ten Tesla battery modules give us a 63 kWh pack and roughly 130 miles of real-world range — but the EV conversion is only part of the story. We completely reworked the chassis with a Mustang II independent front suspension, 4-link rear suspension and Ford 9-inch rear end, along with power steering, power brakes, heat, A/C, modern instrumentation, upgraded lighting, a completely refreshed interior, and plenty of other details designed to make this truck genuinely usable without taking away what made it cool in the first place. It still looks like an old farm truck. It still has a manual gearbox. It still wears its decades of history proudly. It just happens to plug in now.
