An Insane Custom VW at Solvang! | Solvang VW Show Part 3
We're back in Solvang for Part 3, and I found one of the wildest VW Beetles I've ever seen! Oscar took a Beetle and transformed it into VENOM — with an all-metal custom body, Lambo doors, custom seats, Rhino-lined bodywork, Porsche wheels and a 1915cc engine with dual Webers. And this wasn't a quick build. Oscar's brother spent nearly five years doing the bodywork, seamlessly bringing the whole design together. Even crazier, the Beetle had previously been stolen from his brother and recovered stripped before eventually becoming the Venom car you see today. But that's only the beginning. Later I meet Tom and discover a beautiful 1956 VW with an incredible history, original details and a 36hp engine that still gets driven. Then Tom takes me over to his Porsche and tells me a story I wasn't expecting. The Porsche broke down in 1972 while its owner was headed to an Air Force base before a tour in Vietnam. The shop repaired it, but when he returned he couldn't afford the storage bill. The shop eventually acquired the Porsche through a storage lien, and the car sat there until Tom discovered it at an auction in 1996. He bought it for just $6,500. Vintage Volkswagens, old Porsches and the stories behind them — exactly why I love these shows. Thanks for watching, liking and subscribing, and I'll see you on the next one! 🐞 BUG HUGS Celebrating the cars, the people and the stories that make the VW community so special. #BugHugs #Volkswagen #VWBeetle #Venom #AirCooledVW #Porsche356 #VintageVW #Solvang Chapters: 00:00 - Welcome Back to Solvang! 00:31 - Walking the Grounds 04:09 - Meet Oscar and His VENOM Beetle 05:21 - Lambo Doors on a Beetle?! 06:43 - 1915cc Engine With Dual Webers 10:55 - More VW Beetles & Buses to See! 14:21 - Are VW Awnings Making a Comeback? 15:48 - Meet Tom & His Beautiful 1956 VW 18:22 - Tom's First VW Beetle 20:00 - The Engine 23:44 - Wait...
