Racing is Life | The Cars of Steve McQueen
This video is Part 1 of a 2 part series and takes a peek at some of the more significant cars that Steve McQueen drove or owned - both on screen and off screen. We start in the late 1950s and journey into the 1960s with a look at some of his films that featured interesting vehicles as well as some of the cars that he personally owned around the time the films were released. In Part 2, we’ll look at the films and cars of Steve McQueen from the later 1960’s through 1980. Be sure to keep an eye out for that one when its released. Car and motorcycle racing and a passion for all kinds of vehicles was life for Steve McQueen. He was a full throttle enthusiast of driving and riding a lengthy list of some of the coolest vehicles around. Known as the King of Cool, McQueen’s immense star power in the 1960’s and early 1970’s allowed him to indulge his 4-wheeled and 2-wheeled desires both on and off screen. As a consummate car guy in a position to influence the content of some of his films, he found many opportunities to show off a variety of sublime vehicles and his brilliant driving skills whenever possible.
