2013 Baja 1000 Race Highlights
After a gruesome battle lasting eighteen hours, BJ Baldwin has won the 2013 Baja 1000 for the second consecutive year. As he did in last years peninsula run, BJ iron manned the exhausting 883 mile trek, starting the race in sixth position. The 2013 Baja 1000 course took many prisoners throughout the day but "Ballistic" BJ Baldwin was able to withstand most everything Baja California Norte had to offer and is now the 2013 Baja 1000 Champion. "Ballistic" BJ Baldwin crossed the finish line in a first place overall time of 18:36:10.017 at the 2013 SCORE Baja 1000. With this win comes a sixth championship for Baldwin. Following BJ, a steady pace of racers departed the deepest depths of Baja California Norte and proceeded back in to Ensenada to celebrate the amazing feat of finishing one of the roughest Baja 1000′s in recent history. Rob MacCachren was second behind BJ with an elapsed time of 18:43:28.944 and secured a second place finish in the season points championship.
