2013 Baja 1000 Qualifying
After months of anticipation, the 2013 SCORE Baja 1000 has officially begun. A roughly three-mile track in Ojos Negros was the battleground for off-road desert racing's fiercest competitors, in a sprint to earn open air for the most anticipated race of year. Just as seriously as he's taken pre-running, Bryce Menzies came to Ojos Negros on a mission. He took the top qualifying position and was seven seconds quicker then Juan Carlos Lopez. Mexican favorite, Tavo Vildosola, was third fastest on the day and will start ahead of Robby Gordon, who after being awarded a second lap due to helicopter interference, improved his first qualifying time. Rounding out the top five was Rob MacCachren. With the stage now set, there is only one thing left to do. Race. Well, after the always exciting contingency in downtown Ensenada tomorrow.
