PRE/GRID 2 – Racing slicks and wet tarmac
It's easy to forget that non-sunny weather exists as one sunny, 60 degree winter day rolls into the next, but mother nature seemed bent on a wet forecast for our early spring PRE/GRID get together. After postponing once to avoid an ominous forecast, we decided to simply stick it out when it decided to rain the following weekend. Fortunately for us, the rain wasn't enough to deter many dedicated vintage racers in their slick-tire-equipped vehicles. A couple of the VARA roadsters found refuge under an awning while the 2002s lined up against the StanceWorks shop. Dorian, of DV Mechanics, braved the weather and managed to make his way down the soaked highways from Los Angeles on a slippery set of tires under this Giulia racer that we recently featured. With the wet conditions, we saw an increase in more modern classics in the lineup with the likes of BMW E36s and late aircooled Porsches making a welcome appearance. Vintage racing is something that is close to our hearts and we really appreciate the opportunity to celebrate it with all of you. Thank you so much for coming out to our shop this past weekend. We're looking forward to the next PRE/GRID under sunny skies, amidst rows of our favorite racers.
