R.I.P. Jim Nelson

Published in lowtechblog.blogspot.com
A sad day in drag racing history. One of its pioneers, Jim Nelson died yesterday May 9, 2012 at age 84. "Jim with partner Dode Martin transformed the drag racing world with their popular Dragmaster chassis. Jim also raced in the dry lakes and the quarter mile during the 50s and 60s. Partnered with Wally Parks in creation of the NHRA. The Master's Dragliner dragster, Two Thing dragster and the Dragmaster Dart are some of the most memorable cars driven/engineered by Nelson."
